  AB 540 Scholarships
 
AB 540, signed into law on October 12, 2001, authorizes any student, including undocumented students who meet specific criteria to pay in-state tuition at California's public colleges and univerisities (e.g. California Community College, California State University, and University of California).
 
AB 540, promulgada el 12 de octubre, 2001, autoriza a cualquier estudiante , incluso a los estudiantes indocumentados y que cumplan con los requisitos requeridos, a pagar la matricula de residentes del estado en los colegios comunitariosy uiersidades publicas de California ( por ejemplo: Colegios Comunitarios de California, Universidad Estatal de California, y Universidad de California).
 
AB 540 Eligibility Requirements:
   -You must have attended a California high school for 3 or more years;
   You must have graduated from a California high school or attained the eq-uivalent of a high school diploma;
   -You must have a registered or currently be enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education in California;
   -You must have filed or will file as affidavit as required by individual institutions, stting that you will apply for legal residency as soon as possible; and
   -You may not be a non-immigrant holding a valid lettered non-immigrant visa.
  
Requisitos para calificar bajo la ley AB 540:
    -Usted tiene que haber asistido por lo menos 3 anos a una preparatoria de California;
    -Usted tiene que haberse graduado de una preparatoria de California o haber obtenido el equivalente de un diploma de preparatoria;
    -Usted tiene que haber completado o tendria que completar una declaracion jurada la cual puede ser requerida por cada insititucion educacional, testificando que el/ella va a solicitar residencia legal tan pronto como sea posible.
     -Usted tiene que haberse registrado o estar actualmente matriculado en una institucion acreditada de educacion superior en California;
    -Usted no puede ser un no-immigrante teniendo una visa valida de carta de no-inmigrante.

      Requirements: AB540 students who will pursue a bachelor's degree in Cal State University, Los Angeles or Cal State University, Dominguez Hills ( see website for additional requirements).

      Requirements: Incoming or current undergraduate AB540 students attending UC Berkeley, demonstrate leadership and a commitment to service.
      Deadline: April
